Product Description

Product Overview

Huitian 866A/866B is a two-component solvent-free polyurethane adhesive developed for flexible packaging lamination. It is recommended for the inner layer of PET/AL/RCPP and PET/AL/NY/RCPP steaming structures. The cured adhesive layer withstands steaming at 121C for 40 minutes and features excellent medium resistance, high bond strength and good inner layer smoothness.

Key Features

  • 100% solids solvent-free system with moderate viscosity and excellent wettability
  • Withstands retort steaming at 121C for 40 minutes
  • High bond strength with good medium (oil, acid, alkali) resistance
  • Translucent, elastic and anti-aging adhesive layer after curing
  • Does not affect the openability of the inner layer of laminated film
  • Meets water boiling and steaming performance requirements

Applications

  • PET/AL/RCPP and NY/RCPP lamination structures
  • PET/AL/NY/RCPP retort pouch structures
  • PET/VMPET/PET/PE high-barrier flexible packaging
  • Food and pharmaceutical retort packaging lamination

Directions for Use & Precautions

  • Mix 866A and 866B at the standard mass ratio of 100:80 in an automatic glue mixer before use.
  • Set glue mixing and coating temperatures according to the typical use parameters in the TDS; adjust to actual conditions.
  • Films must receive corona treatment to achieve appropriate surface tension before lamination.
  • Full process verification is required for outer high-barrier structures such as PET/AL and PET/VMPET.
  • Seal containers immediately after opening to avoid moisture absorption and bubble formation.
  • Install an effective exhaust hood on the coating system and monitor isocyanate content in the air.
  • Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight; perform lamination trials before mass production.

FAQ

Q: Can 866A/866B be used for retort pouches?

A: Yes. 866A/866B is specially designed for the inner layer of PET/AL/RCPP and PET/AL/NY/RCPP steaming structures and can withstand steaming at 121C for 40 minutes.

Q: Is 866A/866B a solvent-free adhesive?

A: Yes, both components are 100% solids solvent-free, which eliminates residual solvent risks and meets environmental requirements.

Q: What is the mixing ratio of 866A and 866B?

A: The standard mass ratio is 100:80 (866A:866B). It can be fine-tuned between 100:65 and 100:85 depending on ambient humidity and film lamination structure.

Q: What is the coating amount?

A: The recommended coating amount ranges from 1.0 g/m2 to 2.2 g/m2 depending on the film/foil combination and end use of the laminated film.
