Product Description

Product Overview

Huitian 866A/866B two-component solvent-free polyurethane adhesive is engineered for the inner layer lamination of boiling and steaming flexible packaging. The adhesive features moderate viscosity, excellent wettability and certain medium resistance, delivering high strength and good inner layer smoothness without affecting film openability.

Key Features

  • Certain medium resistance for oil, acid and alkali exposure
  • High bond strength for demanding packaging structures
  • Good inner layer smoothness and film openability
  • 100% solids solvent-free with excellent wettability
  • Translucent, elastic and anti-aging cured adhesive layer
  • Withstands water boiling and steaming performance requirements

Applications

  • Inner layer lamination of retort and boiling pouches
  • PET/AL/RCPP, PET/AL/NY/RCPP steaming structures
  • NY/RCPP and PET/VMPET/PET/PE combinations
  • Flexible packaging requiring medium chemical resistance

Directions for Use & Precautions

  • Mix at the standard mass ratio of 100:80 (866A:866B) in an automatic glue mixer.
  • Corona-treat films to reach appropriate surface tension before lamination.
  • Adjust the ratio between 100:65 and 100:85 according to ambient humidity and lamination structure.
  • Verify outer high-barrier structures (PET/AL, PET/VMPET) with full process testing.
  • Seal opened containers immediately to prevent moisture absorption.
  • Install exhaust hood on the coating system and check isocyanate concentration before production.

FAQ

Q: What does medium resistance mean for 866A/866B?

A: The cured adhesive layer provides certain resistance to common media such as oil, acid and alkali, protecting the laminate in boiling and steaming applications.

Q: Does 866A/866B affect the openability of laminated film?

A: No. The product is specially designed so it does not affect the openability of the inner layer of the laminated film.

Q: What structures is it recommended for?

A: It is recommended for the inner layer of PET/AL/RCPP and PET/AL/NY/RCPP steaming structures, plus PET/VMPET/PET/PE combinations.

Q: Can the mixing ratio be adjusted?

A: Yes. Depending on ambient humidity and film structure, the ratio can vary between 100:65 and 100:85.
